A few days ago I posted a photo of the back of a playing card (below), and challenged my incredibly devoted readers to hazard a guess as to what its color, suit, or value might be.

Okay, I admit I’m guessing about that “incredibly devoted” part, but I prefer to be optimistic.  Law of Attraction and all that.

I was frankly curious to see if:

  1. Anyone would humor Whackadoodle Woo-Woo Woman and play this funny little game at all, and
  2. Anyone would be able to pick up any information from a card in such a virtual fashion, without actually being able to see or touch it.

My theory is that intuitive information is really not limited by time or space; certain remote viewing experiments performed by the military tend to support this idea.

I envision a sort of great universal bank of information that anyone can tap into at any time, and find out what they need to know, if they really need to know it (or at least it does no one any harm).

But then again, I ate carbs yesterday, so I may not be playing with a full deck myself today.

In any case, I was pleased and surprised to find that a few people did most bravely and gallantly share their impressions, and that some did in fact give correct answers – most notably Penny, who correctly identified the value of the card as a 10, and had the initial impression of hearts for the suit.

Janice Winsor also accurately identified the suit.  You go, girls!  I’m very impressed.

I would like to try this experiment again in the near future, and I hope that even those who did not get hits this time will try again – and practice at home with your own cards or images, if the idea interests you at all. 

You can even do it while you’re watching TV, which I’m pretty sure is required by law in this country anyway.

It really is a wonderful brain-and-intuition stretching exercise, and can be deeply relaxing as well, once you get the hang of it.  You might be surprised at what you’re able to accomplish over time.

Pick a Card Experiment #1

Since a few of my beloved readers have appeared to take an interest in my Mystery Person experiments (and have gotten some pretty hefty psychic hits as a result), I thought it might be fun to try a different, and even simpler, type of game.

A card game, to be specific.

Since I enjoy developing my own intuition for a number of deep spiritual reasons (but mostly because it’s just fun), when I have a free moment I sometimes like to sit around with a deck of cards and try to guess what they are.

This is a really simple way to develop clairvoyance, deepen your psychic skills, and just generally kick butt at blackjack eventually. It’s something you can do all on your own, and which gives you direct and immediate feedback, so you can really see how you’re coming along.  You can also try it almost anywhere, without people staring at you TOO hard.

For those who want a sort of workbook for this particular practice, check out the Roald Dahl novella “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar,” which is in fact wonderful, and quite spiritual as well.

It’s about a man who discovers through a series of events that he is able to see through playing cards, and then has to decide how to use that ability.

Here is a link to a Wikipedia article on the subject – but if you think you might want to read the story itself, then don’t read the description, as it pretty much gives the whole blessed thing away.

Henry SugarI read this book as a young child, and for some reason it stuck with me – I suppose that’s where I got the idea for the card-guessing game in the first place, come to think of it.

Ironically, though, I don’t like actually playing cards, or many any other games for that matter, so I guess I’m kind of screwed in that respect.

But I WAS born in Las Vegas, so I suppose having a deck of cards in my hand at some point is most likely a genetic requirement.

In any case, the game I propose is very simple, and I’m curious to see if it works in this virtual way.

I suspect that it might.

Have a look at the photograph of the card below, and relax your mind a little.

Breathe deeply, soften your gaze as if you’re looking at one of those old Magic Eye pictures (here’s one so you can practice), and see what impressions come into your mind.

If you happen to know how to meditate, it is greatly helpful to do that first, if only for a moment.

If not, then you should learn! Pronto! How are you getting through the days without it?

Touch the screen if you feel that will help. It’s quite possible it will.

Pick a Card 1 Back

Now, a card is a fairly concrete thing, of course, which is why this is fun. There is a right and wrong answer, but there are varying degrees too – some more difficult than others.

Here are some the levels of intuiting you might shoot for:

  • Do you get a sense of the color of the card? (You’ve got a 1 in 2 chance there)
  • How about the suit? (1 in 4 odds of getting that right)
  • What is the number or value of the card? (1 in 13 chance at guessing it correctly)
  • Get all of the above right? (1 in 52). You’re a psychic superstar!

So depending on your skill or comfort level, you can start off slow, or dive right in and go for the whole tamale.

If I do get some participants in this game, I’ll be happy to repeat it down the line! And not just with playing cards. I’ve got all kinds, including Zener cards – you know, the ones with the circles and squiggly lines and whatnot.

Who knows, if we “play our cards right” and get a lot of recorded hits, we might just find proof of the paranormal over here.

And at the very least, it will keep us weirdos off the streets.
